Representatives of the University Sports Association of the Primorska region (UŠZP) participated in the convention of the European Universities Sports Association (EUSA), held at the well known Slovenian winter resort of Kranjska gora. There they exchanged information about the European University Water Polo and Beach Volleyball Championships (EUC WP and EUC BV), which will be hosted by Koper next summer.
The annual international session, held this year in the famous winter sports center of northwest Slovenia Kranjska gora was attended by the President of the Executive Committee of the European University Water Sports and Beach Volleyball Championships Seit Demiri and the Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the two championships Patrik Peroša. At the meeting they successfully presented all recent activities and the plans for the coming months related to EUC WP and EUC BV, which will be hosted by Koper next year.
The event in the Gorenjska region of Slovenia was attended by representatives of the hosts of all 23 European University Championships that will be held throughout Europe in the coming year, as well as the representatives of the Organizational Boards that hosted the championships in various disciplines this year or in the past.
The University Sports Day and the European Week of Sport were also celebrated during the event and in the the #beActive campaign through sports gathering was also promoted.
The convention was primarily intended for the organizers of the next European University Championships, as they were introduced to the key requirements for quality championship and familiarized with examples of good practices from past events. This segment of the convention also included individual host meetings with technical delegates for each sport discipline.
Unfortunately, at the time of the convention the technical delegate for Waterpolo EUC Koper 2019 was not yet appointed, therefore neither the date of the inspection visit could be fixed. Nevertheless, the UŠZP delegation held several meetings and one was with the EUSA sport manager - Besim Aliti, who offered to the Koper organizers all the support of EUSA's office in organizing both events.
