In the city of Koper, which will host the first European Universities Championship in Waterpolo next year, a new important sport facility was inaugurated – the Olympic swimming pool. 

The new indoor swimming pool was probably the last major sport object missing in the town and the opening is also very important for a wider area.

Now the Sportive–recreational center Bonifika, where the football stadium, the athletics stadium, the free climbing hall, the tennis courts, the beach volley park, skate park, and the Arena Bonifika hall (all ball games, martial arts and bowling) are already located, is definitely completed.

The city now is looking forward to host the European Youth Olympic Festival in 2023, and then maybe in the future the Mediterranean games.  

The new swimming pool is important for the EUC Water Polo Koper 2018, because it will be the reserve venue for the games in case of (very) bad weather nex july.
